HOW TO: XR 150L Cam Install
For engine assembly and disassembly instructions, see the XR 150L big bore installation blog. It's the same process for big bore and stock bore.
The old and new camshaft have top dead center marks. Make sure cam is oriented with top dead center mark facing up when removing and installing.
Remove 10mm camshaft holder special nut and plate. Take note of which side of the plate was facing inward.
Once the holder is removed, use your fingers to push the rockers out of the way and slide the camshaft out.
Oil up the new cam bearings with engine oil or light assembly grease. Slide cam in with timing mark facing up and tighten holder to 20ft lbs.
